Recreation & Respite Respite for Parents of Children with Special Needs
The Recreation & Respite (R&R) program provides relief for family members and primary caregivers of children with special needs and their siblings. Children ages 3-18 (including siblings) participate in a wide range of recreational activities. Our experienced, caring staff and volunteers provide dinner or a snack and any necessary physical care while parents/caregivers take a much deserved break. R&R (formerly Parents Night Out) is currently offered in Salem and Medford on Friday evenings and/or Saturdays. New to the Medford area this year is "In-service R&R Days." The Medford program will provide care on Medford Schools "In-service Days," designed like their "Saturday Recreation & Respite (R&R) Program."
Some of the activities available during R&R include:
- Arts and crafts
- Group games and sports
- Movies
Participant fees are kept as low as possible and cover only a portion of the cost of running the program. R&R is only possible because of the generous support of individual donors. Support your local R&R program with a gift to Easter Seals Oregon today.
Families wishing to participate in R&R must complete an application prior to attending the program. To request an application, or for current pricing information, please contact us. Below are the current dates and times for R&R. You must call to register for each session at least one week prior to the scheduled date. Space is limited and filled on a first come, first served basis.
